Our Sundowner Saluting Cannon design was inspired by land based cannons that were used for coastal fortifications in the 18th and 19th centuries. We keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction while loading and unloading.
This breach loaded design, breaks open, tilting downward to rest in the cradle of the base upon pulling the barrel release located below the cascabel. With this design, Chambered in 10 Ga black powder, with a Mahogany base the resulting cannon is a beautiful and functional. At over 6 pounds this cannon is heavy enough to stay in place while firing.
